Common questions first; write in if yours is not here.

Can I submit the generated document as is?

It is a draft ready for submission. Before filing, read the report in step 5 and clear anything marked as a rejection risk. The registry makes the final call.

Is my code uploaded anywhere?

No. Scanning, cleaning, formatting and export all happen on your Mac. Zhushou has no server, and there is no code path that uploads source anywhere. The app runs in the macOS sandbox and you can inspect its entitlements yourself.

Why 60 pages? My project is only a few hundred lines.

Sixty pages is a ceiling for large codebases, not a quota. Smaller projects are output in full; the last page may be partial, and the checker verifies it is at least two-thirds full.

My code contains trade secrets.

Turn on restricted deposit mode and mark the pages to cover in the page preview. Those pages are blacked out in the exported docx. Covered pages may not exceed half the deposited source, and the app stops you if they do.

Which languages are supported?

Comment and string detection covers more than thirty extensions including Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Rust, C/C++, C#, PHP, Ruby, Vue, HTML, CSS and SQL. Anything else is treated as C-style.

Can I import more than one folder?

Yes. Use Add source folder in step 1; each folder is merged into the same filing under its own prefix.

Are my settings saved?

Project settings are saved automatically to .zhushou.json inside the project folder, so they travel with the repository. App-level settings stay on the machine and are not synced.

Contact

Email is usually answered within two business days. Including your macOS version, the app version and which step went wrong will speed things up considerably.
